January and so on....
just a little note here nothing too exhausting lol!
Just to let you know that my new covers band "Comic Book Villains"
performed our first 2 shows last weekend.
FIrst being Saturday the 29th Jan at the Haygate Wellington, it was also the landlady Tina's birthday which made the night extra special!
Tina & her family have done so much for the band over the past few months, even allowing us to rehearse in the pub early hours of most Sunday Mornings.
The 30th of January was our second show at The Crew in Nuneaton, having played there many times before it was a pleasure going back there and seeing some old faces.
Strange thing was... throughout the show all 4 of us felt like we were dying on our arses (excuse my french lol)
when we were packed up and finished, the bar staff said how great we were and how people were constantly saying how amazing the show was.
Even to the extent of saying we were the best band they had ever had (go figure lol), hearing that after thinking we fell flat on our faces was pretty shocking to be fair lol!
Theyve asked us to book more dates there, i could see them being Friday and Saturday bookings which is great if they are!
Roll on show number 3!!
As for my own music....
ive had to slow things down a little...
As ive had the first few shows coming up with CBV ive had to focus alot of time on musical gear, getting things repaired and trying new setups etc...
Im still going back to my original demos for both the 2nd Instrumental album and a new acoustic guitar, vocal oriented album.
Im looking to have both completed and available hopefully by the summer of this year, soon as the covers band has settled in i can focus my attention more on composing new material and getting these things recorded!!
Ive had a few friends review the 1st 3 possible considerations for the instrumental album, Black Moon, Joanne and Sins (all working titles) are 3 ideas i had originally demod as instrumentals but also considered them for a possible pop/rock project.
I have the mini reviews on my personal Facebook page (you can find me by looking through the friends list on the 'Lucky Singh' group page)
I did say it was going to be a short note today but hey ho haha, hope you have all been safe and well and this new year has been a great start for each and every one of you!!
Peace & Luv as always,
Lucky ;-) xx

2011 is upon us, no really it is!
There have been a few developments with regards to my own personal life but most importantly with the band, after taking the 2-3 months off so i could focus as much time as i could on P.R. work its also given myself and the band time to think about the future.
Unfortunately we have decided not to continue pushing my debut releases in a live setting with "7", due to band members other commitments and personal/proffessional development (among other reasons) we have decided to finish amicably.
My intentions were always to have the band involved with producing the albums be the same band performing the material live, as a result of these recent developments i wasnt willing to continue this project if all original members were not to be a part of it.
On the flipside however.........
I have been more excited than ever about where music is taking me right now, im constantly following that creative voice in my head and it has led me to some very strange but refreshingly new places hehe.
The new album will be the clearest representation of my musical work so far, after experiencing what lifes thrown at me (including bands, albums and other musical noodlings) i can see and hear what this album "My Mona Lisa" will be like.
Many of you who have heard and purchased my CD's will have an idea of how eclectic they are, my initial aim was to create 3 individually different albums back then.
The break from the band has given me some valuable time to sit and really get to know my musical self, ive been going through my never ending pile of archived music from the beginnings right up to where i am now.
There has always been big influences on me throughout (biggest being Joe Satriani, of whom i had the pleasure of meeting this year which was a childhood dream come true)
Aside from the influences there are moments of destinctiveness, traits that were subtle to begin with but gradually become obvious to me as i got to the later recordings.
Even i was unaware of them throughout my years as a musician, sometimes you have to take a step back from what your doing to really appreciate what you do.
Im not saying this is a unique feeling since im sure it happens in all walks of life, i guess its all part of being a creative.
It is strange though because i honestly find it so hard to except compliments from people, i suppose this has alot to do with the reasons why ive never really listened to myself or ever pat myself on the back for anything.
The feeling is like becoming so connected to what you do everything about it becomes 2nd nature, like typing 100's upon 1000's of words a minute on a keyboard becomes so easy you forget how hard it was the first time around.
Then after leaving it alone for a while you suddenly become like an outsider looking in again, looking at yourself as if it were someone else (or something like that haha)
Anyways.....
As i have always promised to myself, i will continue my quest of gigging and maybe someday touring my music, so heres to making 2011 my busiest musical year yet!
Peace & Luv as always,
Lucky ;-) xx

Hey peeps,
its 4:45am right now and I just thought I would send you all an update on how things are going before I get a couple hours sleep ahead of another busy day, Yaaaawn... ;-)
Things have been going really well, the new music is coming along great and I’m really enjoying everything I’m involved in right now.
"7" played our first full 2 hour + show at the assembly rooms Ludlow last month and we had such a great time, it was a luxury to have all the backing tracks + visuals throughout the show.
It’s hard to live up to since most venues don’t have the facilities to cater for animated visuals as a backdrop, we are more than prepared to just rock out without the visuals though and rehearsals have really been some of the best we have ever had.
As always I’ve been working hard on new pieces of music, if I wanted to I could probably delve into another 3 album release but feel I should slow things down a little hehe.
Need to give myself a little more time to let things "Breathe" ;-)
As many of you may know I’ve been working on a piece of music entitled "Breathing" which I had written and recorded especially for Guitar Idol 2010!
It’s always been great fun entering into the Guitar Idol competitions and the last 2 competitions have been a really good experience for me, above all it’s been a really great tool for exposing my music to people and appreciating their interest in what I do.
With the help of Tony Knight and Ben "Billy Bob" Bosco I’ve been able to create a video that’s a little more special this year, myself and Tony spent a day travelling to different areas in and around Telford to shoot some external footage.
If you’re from Telford you may find a few of the shots familiar, in addition to that myself and Ben "Billy Bob" Bosco filmed some close up footage indoors so the judges and avid guitar fan can see my playing in more close up detail.
The entry has now been submitted and you are all welcome to head on over to http://www.guitar-idol.co.uk/video/583 and show your support by voting for me, it would be great to make the final this year but again... I’m more than happy just to be gaining the right exposure from an event like Guitar Idol.
Download the full mp3 version of "Breathing" and full album versions of "Foxy's Crazy" and "Hometown" from Here.
Just a short one here folks, just want to say a final thank you for your continued support and as always stay safe and well.
We will see ya on the road soon!
Lucky ;-) xx

Hhmmmmmmm???
Had a few things on my mind and I just wanted to ask you all a question....
Every now and then i get negative comments with regards to the musical direction and vision for the music i create and perform with the band.
Ive always felt a passion for instrumental guitar more so than any other genre of music, dont get me wrong i love all types of music but i find Instrumental guitar to be something i naturally migrate towards when expressing myself emotionally through music.
My issue lies with comments we have had after shows, mostly with regards to the lack of vocals that appear in our set.
Ive never been concious of captivating a market or a group of fans, its always been about creating music i and my band love to play.
It seems now we get these comments more often than not, what does this say about the future of instrumental guitar music as a genre?
I will stress that this is my own personal experience though, and obviously i cannot detremine the fate of any musical genre based on what i alone am experiencing out there.
Me and my band still have alot of area to cover in terms of venues, towns and cities, since we have played only few shows in the UK, midlands and i imagine and i hope that there are venues that have music fans that enjoy going to see a band playing the type of music we play.
As i book shows for the band right now it is something i grow uncomfortably concious of, of course you shouldnt worry about these things and just go out there and enjoy yourselves but it is difficult to gauge what people want to see in certain places.
So... are you a music fan that tends to lean more towards a band with a lead singer since you relate to words more than emotions expressed purely in notational form?
Let me know....
The other reason i ask is because its also an issue im more concious of whilst writing new music, i have never been the type to sell out by following a trend or trying to capture a market.
I could never produce something that expresses true emotions with true conviction, if it had been tailored for a certain genre.
Does this mean an artist has to be false in order to produce something that is to be accepted?
It can be a very frustrating time when you cant go out performing and enjoying the music you create with so much negativity out there.
One thing has always been true though, if i produce a piece of music be it with vocals or just guitars or even a digital orcheastra then those pieces of music are always written with a true sense of personal conviction.
This isnt a unique feeling and i think creative people all feel that way, and if they dont then they should!
Im not saying that myself and the band feel we are so accomplished in the industry that the market should just accept us, i just feel such a whirlwind of negativity out there right now and just wanted to share the experience with you all.
Well... we are still going out there and performing for you all and we are still selling CD's which is something we cannot complain about but we do rely on and thats the truth!
Stay safe peeps, keep doing what you do and enjoy yourself.
The only motto you need in life

Peace & Luv,
Lucky Singh

"Lucky"
I wanted to apologize for the fact we havnt updated any of our webpages for sometime now, everyone has just been so busy with usual day to day things that we havnt had time to focus on the music (dont get me wrong the break has been nice, i just dont like feeling as though things get sidetracked too much)
Well......
We have been rehearsing!! Thats right, myself, Ben and Kev have recently began working on the live set again. Things are very different this time around though, for those of you that came out to see us last year well... prepare to expect alot more if you can haha! (allthough the shows from 09 were great and we really enjoyed them)
I dont want to give too much away but im feeling really good about things this time around, seems like the initial ideas and vision that came from all 3 of us from the beginning will actually come to fruition!
It has been months and months of ups and downs both on a personal and proffesional level, not knowing what to do with the music, the band etc.. The break has given us time to rethink our approach and just give it some balls and get out there and play some music!!
Well there isnt much more i can say here but i gotta say the first couple rehearsals have been great, the music is sounding better than ever and the time off has made us all realize how much we've missed eachothers company but also how we've missed playing these songs.
Peace & Luv As Always ;-) xx
